Participants performed in the crypt of the legendary Sagrada Família in Barcelona, in the historic Sant Romà Church in Lloret de Mar, and joined choirs from different countries to fill the city’s main square with music. The competition became a true platform for cultural exchange: creative meetings, joint rehearsals, and masterclasses with international experts gave participants new knowledge and lasting inspiration. The Or Y-a Choir is a women's choir under the direction of Nomi Teplow. The choir is comprised of women of all ages from all over Samaria in Israel who come together to sing in a variety of musical styles in close harmony, to learn to sing and to have a good time.

We welcome people of all nationalities and faiths, who want to experience the joy of singing and exploring music as a way of building community based on love and respect. The choir performs several major concerts each year; its Christmas and Spring concerts in Amman are highly anticipated events. Dozan wa Awtar’s repertoire includes a wide range of sacred music, from Byzantine hymns through the chorale classics of Western music to the present day and Islamic anasheed. The choir also enjoys performing secular music, including folk songs from around the world, Broadway hits and arrangements of popular, contemporary music in many languages. A sub-group of the choir, called “Dozan,” is specializing in performing traditional and contemporary music in Arabic. Cantate is a mixed-voice youth choir based in Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire. It is open to all young singers, whatever their background and musical upbringing. Cantate comprises three choirs for children and young people which all perform to an exceptionally high standard. Cantate performed at the Royal Albert Hall, both in the BBC and Schools Prom Concerts, the Royal Festival Hall, the Barbican, the Guildhall London, 10 Downing Street, St Paul’s Cathedral, the Basilica of St Francis in Assisi, St Mark’s Basilica in Venice, and in many local and regional venues. Cantate has gained many national and international awards. In 2008 we achieved international acclaim at the world’s largest choral event – the World Choir Games in Graz, Austria – in which over 430 choirs from some 90 countries competed. Cantate won gold and silver medals, and was the only UK choir to win a gold medal in the finals.  less
