Our music is focused in medieval music from the Northwest of Spain. But the repertoire is also based in tradItional and popular music in different languages. But the repertoire is also based in tradItional and popular music in different languages. We have participated in choral meetings wIth some composers like Javier Busto, Julio Dominguez and Josu Elberdin. In Europe, Canta Compaña offered his music in Poland, France, Netherlands, England and Scotland. Krakow, Edinburgh or Canterbury were some of the cIties where the concerts were held. We love meetings wIth other choirs and exchanges.

A year before, there was already a male vocal group consisting of six members called MIKE 6, the establishment of which was inspired by a US vocal group TAKE 6. Voxtet was basically formed ...  more1998 Voxtet was founded by Martin Mikeš and his several friends. A year before, there was already a male vocal group consisting of six members called MIKE 6, the establishment of which was inspired by a US vocal group TAKE 6. Voxtet was basically formed by subsequent addItion of female singers to MIKE6. The formation of Voxtet started out wIth nine persons but, during the first three years, It ca me Down to the current six members. Most of the singers in Voxtet have their musical background in various choirs. Some of them still sing in Jihlava’s famous PS Campanula choir. 1999 Voxtet’s first concert took place on 31 May 1999 in Jihlava’s Horácké theatre. From then on, Voxtet’s performed at various minor events as well as Its own big shows. 1999-2001 At the beginning, Voxtet was remarkable especially due to the absolute lack of a distinct dramaturgy. In my attempt, “O magnum mysterium” returns three times after the first statement, in a similar gesture but each time shifted to a new tonalIty wIth even more flats. Thus, the listener gets ever more pulled into this magnificent text until the piece culminates in a jubilant “Alleluia” in C-major, having come full-circle back to very first harmony we heard.  less
