MBS is an active mens chorus and during our shows we like to combine quality and pleasure while performing. Our show should not only be a joy to your ears but it should also be a joy to your eyes ! That’s why we are rehearsing very hard every thursday night.

Handel, Gloria, by Vivaldi, the Durufle Requiem, the Pope Marcellus Mass by Palestrina, Magnificat by J.S. Bach and Morten Lauridsen’s Lux Aeterna. During the summer, Cantate presents the Pacific Summer Music Festival which hosts guest musicians such as the nation’s most beloved choral conductor, Dr. Weston Noble, concert pianists, itay Goren and Frank Pavese and the Grammy-nominated string ensemble, Quartet San Francisco. We are committed to building community through excellence in a cappella harmony, and we love to learn. We rehearse weekly to improve our vocal skills and build lasting friendships in the process. Although we have diverse backgrounds, our members thrive by working together to achieve shared goals. We sing a range of repertoire from jazz standards to 21st-century pop, barbershop to show tunes, but most importantly we sing a cappella. As well as entertaining audiences across the eastern suburbs of Melbourne we compete regularly in barbershop harmony competitions at a national level.
