From its very beginning in October 16, 1956 and until now, it is made up exclusively of male students and graduates of National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (former Moscow Engineering Physics Institute). The Choir’s directors have traditionally been exclusively women — talented Choirmasters who represented the classical Russian choral school. The repertoire of the MEPhI Male Choir includes practically all genres of choral music: Russian and Western classics and spiritual music, opera choruses, works by modern composers, Russian folksongs, and some popular songs of the Soviet era.  less

We also perform throughout the year at various venues - retirement communities, nursing homes, churches, banquets, and other events.

In the World Choir Championships which was held in Graz, Austria between 10th-17th July 2011, Boğaziçi Jazz Choir became the 'WORLD CHAMPION' in Contemporary Music and Folklore categories, and got the 'second prize' in Mixed Choirs category. Also winning ...  moreIn the World Choir Championships which was held in Graz, Austria between 10th-17th July 2011, Boğaziçi Jazz Choir became the 'WORLD CHAMPION' in Contemporary Music and Folklore categories, and got the 'second prize' in Mixed Choirs category. Also winning 2 more gold medals in 'Grand Prix of Choral Music' the champions competed in, the Choir has come back to Turkey with a total of 5 gold medals.
