La "Ballade" a d’abord été publiée en 1914 dans une version chant et piano, avant que 2 autres voix « d’accompagnement » soient ajoutées la même année. Le chœur y est traité de manière instrumentale à la manière de Ravel ou Debussy, et y est créateur d’ambiance. La partition est très précise quant aux intentions à donner.  less

The title is drawn from John 6:36, Misericordes sicut Pater (English: Be Merciful, As Your Father Is). Inwood's composition was the winner in an international competition sponsored by the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelization. The hymn has now been released in Italian, French, and English, with a Latin antiphon and refrains. . This video recording by the Golden VOICES Choir STACC FUTO was transposed on key G Major.
