We rehearse, in excellent facilities provided by Hutchesons' Grammar School, on Monday evenings, Aug - Nov and Jan - Mar; we give two concerts, in Nov and Mar, in an on-site auditorium, with 3-manual digital organ. The auditorium can accommodate 60 singers, up to 30 orchestral players and an audience of around 250 (300 max).

The joins are barely noticeable! The Hubbard Saga was written specially for Sale Festival 2001 and follows the antique antics of the fabulous dog of Old Mother Hubbard. The Children's Chorus echoes the barking of the dog whilst the adult choir takes us through the story. Then the children -- one by one tell us the story behind the poem itself. We perform at a variety of functions, often during church services. Our Easter-and Christmas programs are very popular. We also present a praise service ("Lofdiens") as church service. Our "soiree choralis" is another enjoyable event that we host. This is an ideal fundraiser for a church or other organisation.

They are all amateur singers. The choir forms part of the multi-choir model of the University of Pretoria, the others being the UP Jacaranda Children’s Choir, UP Camerata.

We all study at Stellenbosch University and believe in the power of music to uplift, entertain and educate. We aim to share our voices and talent with all who will listen! Any person acquainted with student culture understands the important role of music and singing in the life of a young person. Acastella is a platform for young adults studying at Stellenbosch University to practice their love of singing. Unfortunately the members got spread across the vast world and thus decided to stop Acastella at the end of 2013.  less
