The Choir represents a Community of exceptional talent and passion for music. The East Rand Youth Choir hosts prestigious Choir Festivals annually for both high school and primary school Choirs. The aim of these Festivals are to motivate and inspire these Choirs in order to achieve true development and innovation for our youth. El Coro Polifónico de la Universidad de La Laguna intervino el pasado jueves, 1 de abril, en el concierto de clausura, en el puesto 16 de un total de 23 coros con la obra Selig sind die Toten, del organista y compositor alemán Heinrich Schütz (1585-1672). La actuación se desarrolló desde la base de las vidrieras de San Fernando situadas en las escalinatas principales del Edificio Central de la institución académica.  less

We train together in vocal and choral skills as part of every session and want to explore our own sound as well as that of our Choir's. We have a strong Folk influence and a variety of pieces that keep us challenged and growing. Directed and trained by singing teacher and Choir coach Sandra Smith (www.singingandbreathing.co.uk) Throughout the pandemic we kept singing and did a short but very fun Homegrown Harmony project where all singers participated in a small group piece or a solo and recorded it. We bring you classical repertoires as well as delightful Norwegian folk songs. The Nidaros Cathedral Boys’ Choir has over 900 years of rich history. It’s the main Choir of Nidaros Cathedral which is located in the ancient capital of Trondheim, Norway. It’s also the main Choir of Royal events. The Choir will celebrate its 100 years of modern history in 2027 with a global tour. Current artistic director and conductor, Bjørn Moe - a former soprano in the Choir, successfully reinvented the Choir since joining as conductor in 1973. There are 100 members in the main Choir, 70 sopranos/altos (9-15 years old) and 30 tenors/basses (15-68 years old). In addition, the mini-boys Choir, has 40 boys ages 7-9. Apart from religious repertoire, the Choir also sings Norwegian folk songs as well as songs from different cultures around the world.
