There are no auditions and the standard of music that we produce is consistently high. We are regularly supported by high quality professional soloists and orchestras with the result that we produce highly enjoyable and satisfying concerts for audience and singers alike. We believe that anyone who enjoys singing should be able to experience the fun of making music with other people. All we ask is enthusiasm and a willingness to join in! Whilst in all parts of the choir we have some excellent singers, capable and willing to perform solo or in small groups this is not a requirement for joining. Typically we perform four concerts each season and rehearsals are held each Tuesday evening during school term-time at the Sele School in Hertford. With their voices as the only musical instrument, Latvian Voices have developed a unique individual vocal style, in which intonations from ethnic music of many nations intertwine. Majority of the repertoire is arranged and composed by the members of the group, most of all by Laura Jēkabsone. The repertoire of Latvian Voices is wide: from Latvian folk songs and original compositions with lyrics from Latvian traditional folklore to examples of Classical music in inventive transcriptions. The concerts are usually enriched with arranged melodies of popular and worldwide known songs as well as modern original compositions by Latvian Voices.  less

EnChor began singing together in the fall of 2005. We are an auditioned group of approximately 32 singers, coming from a broad cross section of the Calgary and area community. EnChor proudly highlights the work of Canadian artists, and includes Canadian content in every concert. An important part of our directive is to collaborate with fellow Calgary artists.
