The 21 classically trained outstanding Vocalists of The Nathaniel Dett Chorale have shared The stage with internationally recognized artists such as Juno Award-winning Jazz pianist Joe Sealy, singers Molly Johnson and Jackie Richardson, and opera star Kathleen Battle and The Toronto Symphony Orchestra. The Ensemble has performed for such luminaries as opera singer Jessye Norman and Dance Theatre of Harlem founder Arthur Mitchell. The Chorale has performed at events honouring world leaders Nelson Mandela and Archbishop Desmond Tutu, personality Muhammad Ali, and pianist Oscar Peterson and was The only Canadian Ensemble invited to perform as part of The celebrations surrounding The historic inauguration of President Barack Obama in January of 2009.  less

Following on from The formation of a Birralee Tenth Anniversary Alumni Choir in 2005, Resonance of Birralee was formed under The leadership of Paul Holley. The young people involved represent a variety of professions and a significant number are tertiary students. They share a common love of singing and in many cases are accomplished musicians. One of Their strengths as an Ensemble is Their expertise and appreciation of a broad range of music styles and Their ability to adapt Their programme to suit any event. In 2008 Resonance competed at The World Choir Games in Graz, Austria, where They won Gold and Silver medals in popular Vocal and gospel categories. From renowned festivals, such as The Leipzig Bachfest, The MDR Summer Music, The music festival in Mecklenburg-West Pomerania, The “Kultursommer” in Nordhessen, and The “Musiksommer” in both Schönberg and Quedlinburg, to performances abroad, The singers have been warmly welcomed. The Vocal quintet went on tour in 2007 to The People’s Republic of China and in 2010 to Taiwan. In 2013 The group was invited to Rome to perform a concert in honor of The council chairman of The Evangelical Reformed Church visiting The Holy See.
