Don't let time pass you by, It's time for you to get on board, The Tap-Tap is leaving now, It's time for us to go! Hurry up, walk quickly! Lift your feet up and don't miss it, The Tap-Tap is taking off! Don't fool around, get on! Don't wait, don't stare, Don't joke around, get on! The Tap-Tap might just leave you! Get up! Stand proud! Those of you who know what you want, Those of you with your minds made up, Don't miss a great opportunity To do something for the nation! Listen, don't miss a great opportunity to do something, Get up, stand proud, don't sit around and wait! Get up! Let's...    less

Many of our singers are School music teachers and voice teachers. We perform a wide variety of music from classical and broadway to pop and vocal jazz. The choir was founded in 2011 by friends who have spent their lives teaching others to perform, but whom rarely get the chance to sing anymore. We are directed by Jason Krigas and accompanied by Kathryn Polyack.

PROGRAM NOTES: “I breathed a song into the air, it fell to earth I knew not where.” Ten years ago, I wrote a composition called Always Keep This Close with little idea of where it would go or what it would come to mean for others. To find that song living in the hearts of other musicians is both humbling and surprising. For me, it’s a reminder of how powerful our actions and words can be. Something that feels insignificant to one person can be life-changing to another. While creating The Heart of a Friend, I knew from the start that I wanted to shape a melodic arc that captured the trajectory of both the arrow and the song. I felt strongly that the first two stanzas needed to end at a high point, preserving the uncertainty of where each might land. Only in the third stanza does the melody turn downward, revealing the rest of its path. I then combine these two halves to symbolically represent reflection—looking back on an action and seeing the journe...    less
