Since 2006, when Gary Weidenaar took the baton, the choir has received invitations to appear at four state & regional conferences: Meticulous attention is given to performing music of various periods or parts of the world in the style appropriate to that era or culture including adjustments of not only style but tone color also. Recent clinics with guests Chanticleer and Weston Noble have helped the choir grow and the Choir regularly premiers new works by composers.  less

Although the choir originated and is based in Preston, Lancashire, members come from all over the North West. Individual choir members are involved in a wide range of local community projects and often call upon the whole choir to help drive fundraising events across the region. One Voice Community Choir celebrates diversity and continually sources new material from its multi-cultural roots. St Stephen’s has a strong musical tradition with ...  moreIn the ancient village of Hackington, now a suburb approximately a mile North-east of the centre of Canterbury, St Stephen’s Church is home to one of the leading church choirs in the Canterbury Diocese. St Stephen’s has a strong musical tradition with two choral services each Sunday throughout the year (except August when the choir has a well deserved break – but usually sing elsewhere for a number of days). Music is sung from across the centuries, ranging from plainsong dating back hundreds of years right through to contemporary works by composers such as John Tavener and Arvo Pärt, including works written especially for us.  less
