We perform in concerts, choral festivals and charity fundraising events throughout the year under the direction of Ian Sexton. We have a broad repertoire ranging from classical to popular music including traditional carols at Christmas time. We are always interested to welcome new members to the choir. Members saw the need for a name which reflected their distinctive sound and musical objectives. They chose Voyces – a uniting image, powerful in its simplicity, a word with a bit of a twist, reflecting the eclectic and often unusual repertoire of the choir. In using the archaic spelling – ‘Voyces’ – the choir acknowledges thousands of years of rich choral tradition whilst establishing itself in the 21st century choral landscape. The choir is fast making a name for itself premiering works never before heard in Perth or in fact the world. Voyces seeks to be an interactive and involved performing group in the local WA and wider Australian musical Community. Founded in 2009, Gotham Rock Choir was formed to provide an outlet for singers of all levels and backgrounds to explore contemporary music in a supportive, fun, uplifting environment, to provide an alternative to the city’s many traditional choirs and to provide much-needed sense of “cool” to choral singing. Each week, a diverse group of New Yorkers from all walks of life–ranging from show business professionals to avid shower singers–gather at a professional rehearsal studio in Midtown Manhattan to belt out an eclectic mix of music in stunning 4-part harmony in preparation for a final concert held at an off-Broadway theatre. The small training choir is able to travel anywhere. To da...  moreFormed in November 2005, the choir has performed around England, Wales, parts of France and Germany. Members of the choir also run a training choir to train other choirs to perform Gospel music. The small training choir is able to travel anywhere. To date they have travelled to Cornwall, Devon, Derbyshire, Wales, France and Germany. The whole choir is mixed, with approximately 50 singers and performs around 30 times a year.
