It was Mr. Bonnie Fonseka, a distinguished Old Boy, who's vision soon came to be a Benedictine tradition, by forming a musical club. This prompted the birth of the first College Choir. The Choir acquired a reputation for top class singing and in addition often invited to perform at important national events such as to perform with other Schools when princess Elizabeth visited Ceylon in 1952.
Since Mr. Bonnie Fonseka’s retirement there were many dedicated young musicians who undertook the responsibility and uphill task of training the Choir. Some of them were Mr. Robert Joseph, Mr. Francis De Almeida, Mr. Nicholas Johnpulle, Rev Bro. Augustine and Mr. Ravein George.
Mr. Ravein George revived the Choir in 1996 and guided them to reach the height of success as being cited as a Classical Choir. The Choir won the all island singing competition in the year 1999. The Choir of recent times is being Directed by a student of Ravien George and current... less

Tomislav Veršić in the School year 1992/93 by merging two School ensembles founded a year earlier: Girls’ Choir, and traditional Dalmatian male vocal group (so-called “klapa”) “Šufit”. At the end of the following School year, the Choir participated for the first time at the Croatian Youth Music Festival, choral competition which is traditionally held in Varaždin, thereby winning the Silver Plaque. In 1996 the performance of the Choir at the same event was rewarded with Gold Plaque. After this success, the Choir received new, more experienced members, and began to act as the Mixed Choir of Cultural and Artistic Association “Aspalathos”. Although new ensemble soon became well recognized and multiply awarded, it ceased to be a part of the School and thus of this historical review as well.
The Choir continued its work under the name of “Marko Marulić” High School in the School year 2004/05. Since 2006 until now, the Choir has performe... less

As a result of the love they had for Choir music, they felt a need for a School Choir to be established. From the first year of its existence, Choir was trained and prepared for the Schools’ eisteddfods by two fellow students. In 1998, they both matriculated.
In the following year these students continued with the Choir training and were compensated for their services by the School Governing Body (SGB). In 2001 they were snatched by nearby Schools that were willing to pay them better wages and the SGB had to look for other people who could assist with Choir training from the community. This continued until 2004, when the School employed a teacher who studied music at university.
In 2009 another teacher, who studied music too, came and volunteered his services at the School. In 2010 the teacher was employed on a temporary basis by the Department of... less
