It has since grown from a small choral group to a self-run community Choir with a wide ranging repertoire, performing music that bridges cultures and unites faith traditions.
The project won an ABC award in December 2009 at the Royal Society for the Arts and was cited by the judging panel as ”an excellent, innovative way of bringing people together through a shared passion for music”. Koruso! host performances at least twice a year and to date has performed at a variety of venues across its home borough and beyond.
Members come from all walks of life and all across Southwark. We enjoy singing together every Thursday from 6:30pm at Oliver Goldsmiths Primary School, Peckham Road. New members are always welcome - particularly tenors and basses.

Comprising both Choir and period-instrument orchestra, The Sixteen’s total commitment to the music it performs is its greatest distinction. A special reputation for performing early English polyphony, masterpieces of the Renaissance, bringing fresh insights into Baroque and early Classical music and a diversity of 20th-century music, is drawn from the passions of conductor and founder Harry Christophers.
At home in the UK, The Sixteen are “The Voices of Classic FM” and Associate Artists of The Bridgewater Hall, Manchester. The group promotes The Choral Pilgrimage, an annual tour of Britain's finest cathedrals bringing music back to the buildings for which it was written. The Sixteen has recently featured in the highly successful BBC television series, Sacred Music, presented by actor Simon Russell Beale - a second series which focused on the music of Brahms, Bruckner, Fauré, Pärt and Tave... less

What began as a small group of friends who were passionate about choral singing is now a well-established enterprise which is becoming a benchmark in Spain and abroad, as endorsed by the stream of prizes and invitations and the public and critical acclaim. The definitive point of this international recognition came in 2009, when the Choir took part in the European Grand Prix for Choral Singing in Tours(France) after having triumphed in all the classes in the competition in Guido d’Arezzo (Italy) the previous year.
With the common aim of enjoying choral music, and sharing that enjoyment with others, this project includes an adult Choir of 40 Mixed voices and a children’s Choir (‘Los Peques’) with 50 members. The training is notable for its versatility both in repertoire and in use of the singers, which enables the Choir to present all kinds of concerts (Mixed Choir, chamber Choir, ladies’ Choir, men’s Choir) with a wide repe... less

The members live at different places throughout the country. Five times a year they gather in different places in Norway to share music with each other and their audience.
The singers have a true passion for singing and performing music, which captures the audience in a way that makes them feel like they take part of a musical journey that Via Vitae guides them through. The Choir shows the way through a wide repertoire of choral music, both secular and church music, rhythmical and classical music. They present a program that includes music you feel like dancing to as well as music you feel like meditating to.

Our strength is in our repertoire and our ethos. We sing songs of protest, passion and celebration throughout the ages from all around the world. Leaving no generic stone unturned, our repertoire is wildly eclectic and deeply funky; songs to make you laugh, stomp your feet, shiver with harmonic delight and keep coming back for more!
Our Musical Director Kirsty Martin explains our vision: “We believe that collective song is a strong and versatile instrument that can move mountains. We stand out from the sing-along Choirs and the corporate choral businesses as a bold creative force; an equitable, exploratory and enjoyable musical community who share and perform innovative vocal music together with a palpable and infectious joy. We’re willing to go where no Choirs have gone before! We are the music makers, ... less
