The Ensemble has been in residence at The Church of St. Ignatius of Antioch since 2003. Polyhymnia's singers are drawn from many sources, including some of The finest church choirs in New York Since 2000, director John Bradley has been creating original editions of music for The Ensemble, some of it secreted in manuscript collections since The 16th century. Working in concert with libraries, liturgical historians and institutions, Polyhymnia hopes to both preserve and reintroduce choral masterworks of The Renaissance and early Baroque in ways that both entertain and elucidate. In 2003, Matjaž Šček, The conductor of The group, was replaced by Andreja Martinjak, who performed regularly with The choir and took part in national and international choir competitions where The choir as well as The conductor were winning numerous prizes and awards. The greatest achievements of The choir include a gold plaque, awarded in The 20th Slovenian national choir competition, Naša pesem (Our song) 2007 and The second place in The 9th international choir competition in Maribor 2008, where The choir also won a special prize for The best Slovenian choir of The competition. In 2008 we celebrated The 80th anniversary of The birth of Slovenian composer Pavle Merkú with a special cycle of concerts.
