At the moment we consist of around 100 members in the average age of about 23/24. We are young people who are in the mood for singing modern self-made jazz- and pop-arrangements. Mimi Neumair and Lukas Maier are our conductors, both are students at the Conservatorium in Munich. If you like our videos we'll get excited about a "like" on Facebook or a youtube-thumbs up. Or even both? ;-) Thanks a lot! Kind regards from bavaria, Anchora  less

The choir had recently given the first South American (and second overall) performance of my “Alleluia! O virga mediatrix”. Along the way I'd been chatting with a choir member about Pope Francis' Argentine heritage – a setting of text from an Argentine translation of the Bible seemed especially fitting. I'm happy to share the sheet music free of charge – please contact me for the PDF. • Facebook: david.basden.9 • New email: deebee123 [at] bigpond.com  less

Launched in 2006, this choir for treble and changing voices continues to expand its horizons, develop its membership and satisy a variety of musical tastes. The choir has toured throughout British Columbia and Alberta. In July 2011, they sang in Ottawa at the Unisong festival for Canada Day, and in July 2013 the group was featured at the presitigious and exciting international Festival 500 in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Wherever the choir travels, we spread the joy of music-making and hope to bring communities together through song. Shumayela offers a focus on thorough and excellent music education, with singers learning about healthy vocal production, the body-voice connection, and vibrant performance presence as well as a strong emphasis on musical literacy, music theory, and sightsinging skills. As with all our ensembles, Shumayela provides a secure and accepting social environment where all singers feel their importance as members of the group...    less
