In the World choir Championships which was held in Graz, Austria between 10th-17th July 2011, Boğaziçi Jazz choir became the 'WORLD CHAMPION' in Contemporary Music and Folklore categories, and got the 'second prize' in Mixed choirs category. Also winning ...  moreIn the World choir Championships which was held in Graz, Austria between 10th-17th July 2011, Boğaziçi Jazz choir became the 'WORLD CHAMPION' in Contemporary Music and Folklore categories, and got the 'second prize' in Mixed choirs category. Also winning 2 more gold medals in 'Grand Prix of Choral Music' the champions competed in, the choir has come back to Turkey with a total of 5 gold medals. Our choir is made of amateur singers WHO love to make music. The conductor Zafer Gökçer has been conducting the choir since 2011. we love to sing classical, Turkish pop, jazz and folk music. Anyone WHO love to sing in a mixed choir is wellcome to our choir.

The choir was founded in 1838 by Fredrik Pacius and...  moreThe Academic Male Voice choir of Helsinki – Akademiska Sångföreningen or Akademen in Swedish – is a Fennoswedish (i.e. Swedish-speaking) male voice student choir based in the Finnish capital of Helsinki. The choir was founded in 1838 by Fredrik Pacius and is the oldest extant choir in Finland. At present, Akademen has around 60 active singers, most of whom are university students. However, quite a few choose to stay in the active choir long after graduation, which makes for a healthy mix of youth and experience. We give concerts regularly in Finland, and travel abroad as frequently as possible. In addition to all the Scandinavian and most European countries, Akademen has been on tour in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United States, Hong Kong, the Philippines, and Singapore. We believe that ambitious musical development can go hand-in-hand with tradition, and work enthusiastically to keep alive the dialogue between past and present.  less
