We rehearse weekly and Sing a variety of pop, rock, folk, reggae and gospel. SoundRoutes Singers have performed to sellout audiences at venues across the local region and in 2012 recorded our debut EP Changing Key. the groundbreaking project was in conjunction with Addiewell Prison Choir, also run by Shona Brown, Britain's first prison choir and over £3000 was raised for Shelter Scotland.  less

Along with entertaining our local audience KCC competes in the Mid Atlantic District of the Barbershop Harmony Society and is a consistent champion in our Division. KCC also promotes quartet Singing as well as a cappella Singing among the youth in our region. This ensemble is offered every fall and spring semester, and satisfies the fine arts requirement when enrolled for a minimum of three semesters.

It features people with disabilites and those without, from every section of the community in Northern Ireland. the age range is extensive, from seventeen to over seventy but most importantly members are united by their love of Singing. the choir is from Belfast Northern Ireland and is conducted by Beverley Whyte. Driven by the desire of thorough preparation of quality choral projects, the choir works under the leadership of Slovene and foreign guest conductors. the choir prepared their inaugural concert, entitled In the Beginning, in cooperation with young Finnish conductor Dani Juris the topic of creation coincided not only with the central composition of the concert, Copland’s In the Beginning, but also with the choir’s first public appearance and presentation of the concept of their work. Among the carefully selected works by Slovene and other authors, three were performed in Slovenia for the first time: Aaron Copland’s In the Beginning, Cyrillus Kreek’s Onnis on inimene (Blessed be the Man) and Ole Gjeilo’s Unicornis captivatur (Captured Unicorn).
