Currently is consists 20 students and young professionals from different fields. The choir has a rich repertoire including Bulgarian music, folklore of different countries, spiritual pieces, works of 20-21 century, pop, jazz and world music. The imaginative and original musical arrangements and interpretations are specific for the choir are they are always enjoying to great success among the public and also evaluated by specialists. Following the move in 1983 into the West end of Glasgow the choir was renamed Glasgow Lyric Choir. ​ Under its present conductor, Julian Evans, the Choir sings a wide repertoire of choral music from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods and traditional Scots and Gaelic songs. We are a mixed voice choir numbering around 30 at present. ​ We gave two concerts in Glasgow during the 2017-2018 season: in December we presented a Christmas programme and in June we gave a concert featuring a selection of music from the movies. However, in April we also gave two concerts in Italy, the first in Barga (including a Vivaldi Credo and Scottish songs) and the second in Milan where we joined forces with Canti Corum to sing Dvorak’s Mass in D. ​ Choir members enjoy many social as well as musical events together. Harpsichordist, organist and visionary choirmaster George Malcolm was one of the leading figures in British music after the Second World War. In his early life he had been Organ Scholar of Balliol College and Choirmaster of St Mary’s, Clapham. His work at Westminster Cathedral as Master of Music for twelve years from 1947 was the stuff of legend. We are a group of friends who got to know each other while singing in the same academic or chamber choirs. Eventually, our Passion for the classical music led us to create our own vocal ensemble. In our repertoire there are also some pop music arrangements.
