Members of ...  moreThe Virginia Wesleyan Chorale is a small, auditioned group at Virginia Wesleyan College in NorFolk, Virginia. The choir is composed of 16-20 singers from all majors who perform a variety of music, from classical, to Folk, to contemporary jazz. Members of the Wesleyan Chorale also perform in the Wesleyan Singers, an open-enrollment ensemble that performs a variety of music while developing vocal technique and musicianship skills.

The group works mostly acapella but has also performed in other styles, such as big band. The group's repertoire ranges from Israeli Folk to American jazz and British pop. The emphasis always being on tight harmony, even balance and a clear unit sound. The Yakinton Octet is truly a singer's group, consisting of eight friends who work as a democratic group with no professional conductor.

Words & music: Anthony Sylvestre. Performance time: 4’45. The Song can be performed in 2 languages versions: in English/French or in English/English. The main theme is a declaration of love. It can be sung to either a woman or a man. While the qualities of the beloved are listed in contemplative praise, the promise to be there in difficult times is made with tenderness and sincerity. As we are enveloped in this loving tranquility, the voices of the choir intensify until they reach a second theme, one that is more marked and determined. This sequence entitled ”The French Dream’, introduces us to a more mysterious and dreamlike atmosphere, straight out of our childhood fairy tales. Then, as if we had fallen asleep for a moment, the words 'Beautiful! Beautiful' resound once again, bringing us back to a reassuring reality.  less
