Flos Campi (meaning "flower of the field" in Latin—from the Song of Songs) is an early music Ensemble comprised of students from the University of Southern California. We specialize in repertoire from 1750 and before.

The Embro area is well known for having very talented people and we have added to the Embro talent with people from Woodstock, Ingersoll, Thamesford, Cambridge, London. Our goal is to make a great choral sound by learning and working together. We sing both the classics and the fun songs but our chief goals are that we have FUN while being of service to our communities!!!  less

Our program has grown to 3 vocal jazz Ensembles. The music we perform represents a crossover of the jazz and popular music idioms. The students in the KCKCC VJ program learn Jazz Education through a variety of methods. First of all, each of these students take private vocal jazz coachings weekly. They also perform music by professional vocal Ensembles, arrangements by well-known vocal jazz educators, and learn jazz and popular music standards (both through the Ensemble and in private coachings).  less

As this piece was meant to represent the early beginnings of human civilization and the birth of language, we have staged the piece in a somewhat tribal way and added jungle sound effects.
