This SATB group presents members from across the length and breadth of the isLAnd ranging in age from 16 to 26 years. Dynamic, gifted and spirited are some of the words used to describe this group of vocalists and musicians. The JYC was founded by its principal director Gregory Simms, a member of the World Choir Council and National Coordinator for Music with the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission. The 75-member ensemble meets in Brooklyn and is made up of neighbors who range in skill from semi-professional to newbies! Concerts include well known and little-known Masterpieces of choral literature from Early Music to Contemporary composers and commissions by Brooklyn musicians. The Chorale rehearses Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 9:30 in Brooklyn Heights.
