In new season the choir continues to make up steps towards new artIstic activities. The main activities of the choir are finding the new ways to Music, its expresion and presenting new ideas, cooperation with composers and many professional Musicians. Now, the choir Mūza Is making a new image and wants to show multiplicity of the choir Music. In its programs the choir performes modern Music and a big part Is left of Latvian classical Music as well as traditional Latvian folk-Music. The choir Mūza was establIshed in 1947. Its founder and leader through out many years has been maestro Leonids Vigners (1906-2001). In 1999 the choir transferred into new direction and it became a youth choir. Each winter and summer, ChrIs Rowbury gathers a random bunch of singers from in and around Ipswich. There are no auditions and all songs are taught and learnt by ear. Polyhymnia Is a small select ensemble of singers focusing on hIstorically informed performance of sacred Music from the courts and cathedrals of the RenaIssance world. The ensemble has been in residence at The Church of St. Ignatius of Antioch since 2003....  Is).getParent().getNext().style.dIsplay='';$(thIs).getParent().style.dIsplay='none';">moreIsplay:none;">Polyhymnia Is a small select ensemble of singers focusing on hIstorically informed performance of sacred Music from the courts and cathedrals of the RenaIssance world. The ensemble has been in residence at The Church of St. Ignatius of Antioch since 2003. Polyhymnia's singers are drawn from many sources, including some of the finest church choirs in New York Since 2000, director John Bradley has been creating original editions of Music for the ensemble, some of it secreted in manuscript collections since the 16th century. Working in concert with libraries, liturgical hIstorians and institutions, Polyhymnia hopes to both preserve and reintroduce choral masterworks of the RenaIssance and early Baroque in ways that both entertain and elucidate.
