We welcom...  moreThe J Singers combine singing ‘seriously for pleasure’ with performing charity fund-raising concerts throughout the county of Somerset. We sing a varied mix of Music from traditional ballads and songs from the West End shows, to popular numbers. We welcome new adult members with or without prior choral experience. You do need some Musical ability, but it's not essential to read Music. Rehearsals are in Wembdon, near Bridgwater, on a Tuesday evening.

Siyabonga Dlamini and Sibusiso Sithole, with the primary objective (/s) of rehearsing and performing choral Music, providing Musical services to the community when the need arises, to provide a Musical home for all interested in the greater Pretoria and Johannesburg area and to promote the standard of choral Music. Secondarily Tswelopele aims to educate its members in the singing of all types of choral Music, arrange concerts for the general public to attend, perform choral works with other Choirs and participate in various competitions and Music festivals in the community. The Choir currently consists of 48 choristers. The Choir being fairly young went to its first (TCMA) competition on October 18th 2015, winning first place in the development section. The Choir has since went on to perform at Computeshare and Standard Bank respectively. Tswelopele Chorus attended its first GACMA competition on May 29th 2016 and placed 6TH in the standard category. The piece was written for the 50th anniversary of the Habaneras Contest in Torrevieja, Spain. The Musical writing has nothing of a traditional habanera. The constant habanera rhythm is not present but must be felt as an internal rhythm. What I have included is the alternation of minor and major modes so typical of habaneras. Our program has grown to 3 vocal jazz ensembles. The Music we perform represents a crossover of the jazz and popular Music idioms. The students in the KCKCC VJ program learn Jazz Education through a variety of methods. First of all, each of these students take private vocal jazz coachings weekly. They also perform Music by professional vocal ensembles, arrangements by well-known vocal jazz educators, and learn jazz and popular Music standards (both through the ensemble and in private coachings).  less

It is a chamber Choir dedicated to European vocal Music from the nineteenth century onwards. As its director, Pierre Louis Godeberge has given with the Groupe Vocal GYMEL numerous concerts in Paris and its metropolitan area, in Champagne-Ardennes, Touraine and Normandy. He has conducted both religious and secular a cappella repertoires, notably Slavic and Church slavonic Music. He has also premièred works by French contemporary composers (Bicalho, Maillé, anders). In 2007, the ensemble was finalist at the national competition of the Florilège vocal of Tours.  less

All members ...  moreInitially formed as part of a school-outreach program with the Quintessential Vocal Ensemble (QVE) in Newfoundland in 2009, Afterglow developed a love of 6-part a cappella Music and began searching for new and challenging Musical experiences. All members of QVE, the singers range in disciplines from Music to Engineering to the Arts. Afterglow performs frequently throughout St. John’s, including being featured guests on CBC Radio, local television, Festival 500, as well as community concerts and fundraisers. The group writes their own arrangements and began presenting full concerts last spring. Afterglow was one of 11 groups selected world-wide to partake in the Small Vocal Ensembles component of international biennial Festival 500 in July 2011. This will include masterclasses and individual coaching sessions with Bob Chilcott and Finnish group, Rajaton.
