We welcome people of all nationalities and faiths, who want to experience the joy of singing and exploring music as a way of building community based on love and respect. The Choir performs several major concerts each year; its Christmas and Spring concerts in Amman are highly anticipated events. Dozan wa Awtar’s repertoire includes a wide range of sacred music, from Byzantine hymns through the chorale classics of Western music to the present day and Islamic anasheed. The Choir also enjoys performing secular music, including folk songs from around the world, Broadway hits and arrangements of popular, contemporary music in many languages. A sub-group of the Choir, called “Dozan,” is specializing in performing traditional and contemporary music in Arabic. The BoyChoir’s reputation for excellence has brought invitations from local and national music conventions, as well as sporting events and touring Broadway companies. The BoyChoir has performed with the Minnesota Orchestra, the Minnesota Opera, the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, the Baltimore Symphony, the Prague Philharmonic, Garrison Keillor’s A Prairie Home Companion on National Public Radio, amongst others. This season our Choirboys will be featured in Minnesota American Choral Directors Association’s 50th Anniversary Celebration Golden Finale Concert along with first-time appearances with the Wayzata Symphony Orchestra, Edina Chorale and St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church Choir (Orff’s Carmina Burana). We are a music group from Tembisa, in Gauteng. The group was founded in 2020 and it hosted it first event in October 2020. We released our first single track with Umlazi Levites Choir on 26 March 2021. We are available on all major social media platforms.
