Founded in 2008 under the direction of Matthe... moreThe Larkin Singers, a 16-voice chamber choir, has quickly established itself as one of the finest examples of Canada's strong choral heritage, dedicating itself primarily to renaissance and baroque repertoire. Founded in 2008 under the direction of Matthew Larkin, the choir is formed of professional choral scholars from the Toronto area.
The Larkin Singers has had successful tours to Bristol, UK as resident choir at Bristol Cathedral and to New York City. They have also presented concerts in Ottawa, London and Kingston. In 2008, The Larkin Singers released its first recording, "A New Work is Come on Hand" featuring music of the Christmas season by Bach, R.V. Williams, Howells, Ord and others.
Now in its fourth season, The Larkin Singers presents a 3 concert subscription series; outreach and collaborative performances throughout Ontario. The Vancouver choir has become known for technical virtuosity, fine blend and exceptionally high performance standards encompassing 500 years of choral repertoire. VCS has been awarded the Canada Council’s top prize in choral singing, the Healey Willan Grand Prize, more than any other choir in the country.
Led by Paula Kremer since 2013, VCS also commissions new works from critically acclaimed composers which have led to extremely successful and innovative collaborations with regional and international artists and ensembles.

Since 2008 the St. Lawrence Choir has been under the direction of Michael Zaugg. The Swiss-born musician has distinguished himself as an innovative and versatile conductor on the Canadian choral scene. Active as artistic director, guest conductor, pedagogue and clinician, Michael Zaugg brings a wealth of experience and creativity to his work.
St. Lawrence Choir was formed in 1972 by Iwan Edwards and a group of singers residing in the West Island of Montreal. Concerts were presented in Lachine until 1983 when the Choir relocated to downtown Montreal. Since 1986, the Choir has regularly appeared with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra as the largest component of the MSO chorus, and has made numerous recordin... less
