Although The choir originated and is based in Preston, Lancashire, members come from all over The North West. Individual choir members are involved in a wide range of local community projects and often call upon The whole choir to help drive fundraising events across The region. One Voice Community Choir celebrates diversity and continually sources new material from its multi-cultural roots. The inspired leadership of Musical Director Tyndale Thomas MBE, combined with 14 years of performance experience has produced a stunning sound and versatile choral ensemble. The school's choir became very successful in The mid-1980s, winning many competitions including The Llangollen Eisteddfod. When school was over, it seemed natural to carry on singing togeTher as a choir, and The group's achievements included reaching The semi-finals of Sainsbury's Choir of The Year and appearing on Opportunity Knocks. In The 1990's, The choir moved to Harrow and officially became known as Jubilate. Sarah Stroh took over as Musical Director in 1999 and since Then The choir has grown significantly, doubling in size to its current membership of 43. There are still some original members of The choir, who have been singing togeTher for more than 25 years. Our recent competition successes include winning The Barnardo's National Choir competition in March 2013 and The ladies choir, folk and Popular music classes and runner-up with distinction in The sacred music class in The 2012 Mid-Somerset Festival.
