We aim to establish a strong group of Singers who rehearse and perform regularly, predominantly a cappella choral works but sometimes with instruments and including some solo/small ensemble repertoire. We will be commissioning new works as well as exploring established repertoire and pieces by CoMA composers and associates. The group will reinforce as well as supplement the established CoMA Voices programme. Singers are expected to be confident Singers with some sight reading experience, be prepared to tackle unusual vocal techniques and unconventional pieces. Originating at the University of Cambridge, the consort...  morePlatinum Consort was founded by Scott Inglis-Kidger and Claire Jaggers in 2005. The consort specialises in bringing vibrancy to early music, as well as breathing life into newly commissioned pieces. Originating at the University of Cambridge, the consort attracted Singers from the renowned choirs of St John's, Jesus, Trinity and King's Colleges. Now a professional vocal ensemble, Platinum Consort boasts some of the best young Singers in London. They have an affinity with the music of composer Richard Bates and recently premiered his Tenebrae Responsories. These, along with other music inspired by the Tenebrae tradition appear on Platinum's debut album, In The Dark which is released on Resonus Classics. Platinum also runs a Boys' Choir, which aims to be one of the best of its kind in the UK. There are more than 150 works of various times (Renaissance, Baroque, Classicism, Romanticism and music of the twentieth century) and styles (choral concerts, choral miniatures and songs, spirituals, songs of different nations of the world, folk songs, Christmas music) at the repertoire of our choir. Modern Belarusian music takes a large part of our repertoire, thanks to that we are happy to open Belarus to other nations.
