We believe that artistically excellent performances of beautiful music – presented with enthusiasm, energy, and insight – provide artistic experiences that have broad appeal and enrich the lives of performers and listeners alike.

Our choir is made of amateur Singers WHO love to make music. The conductor Zafer Gökçer has been conducting the choir since 2011. we love to sing Classical, Turkish pop, jazz and folk music. Anyone WHO love to sing in a mixed choir is wellcome to our choir.

Since its formation in 1964, the choir appears annually at the Welsh Proms and has performed with many of the world’s leading conductors, orchestras and soloists including: Sir Colin Davies; Sir Andrew Davies; Tadaaki Otaka; Owain Arwel Hughes; The London Symphony Orchestra; BBC National Orchestra of Wales; The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra; Raphael Wallfisch, Luciano Pavarotti; Dame Kiri Te Kanawa; Felicity Lott and Bryn Terfel. We have also sung for both the Queen and Nelson Mandela. The choir’s versatility has led to countless recordings and broadcasts on both Radio and Television, most recently on BBC Radio 4. Commissioning of New works remains high on the choir’s artistic agenda alongside an active tradition of promoting the work of Welsh composers, notably that of William Mathias, Alun Hoddinott, Geraint Lewis, John Metcalf & Mervyn Burtch. From early renaissance music, through Classical and romantic, to modern day, Coroedina's repertoire is large and varied. It was first created by a few friends in 1991, then enlarged over the years. It has been conducted by Stephan Nicolay since 2004. The choir aims to share quality music and New experiences with the audience. That is why La Sestina often performs with crossover arts on a main theme e.g. French Renaissance chansons in 16th century clothes with an actress, a cappella sacred contemporary music with dancers and video projection, Baroque French music with chamber orchestra and a lecturer, medieval Spanish music with mediterranean ensemble of lutes and percussions, etc. Also, the choir aims at supporting humanitarian and social actions by offering one or several concerts each year. Many international NGO have benefited from these charity concerts such as Unicef, Unesco, Amnesty International, Red Cross, Médecins Sans Frontières and so on, but also very local associations. We range in age from 18 to 75. We strive to inspire Singers, audiences and community through the beauty and power of diverse chorale music. We perform four major concerts per year, including a holiday program, a Classical performance with orchestra, and a spring pops concert.
