Besides its regular concerts in Bogazici University, they also performed in cities such as Ankara, Canakkale, Afyon, Denizli, Izmir, Antalya, Mugla, Sakarya, Kocaeli and reach their voices to people in the country. Some of the significant performances of the choir can be listed as Ankara Polyphonic Choir Festival, Afyon Classical Music Festival, Austrian Consulate Culture Office New Year Concert, Jungend Musiziert Competition Opening Concert, Istanbul International Choir Days (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011) In year 2007 announced as ''Mevlana (Jalāl ad-Dīn Rūmī) Year'' by UNESCO, the choir prepared the repertoire including the works of Mevlana and Yunus Emre. In this context, the choir performed in Musicateneo Festival Opening Concert with the theme called ''Journey to Absence'' and share thoughts, feelings and wishes of historical turkish figures with the audience, in a musical way. The choir was established in 1996 (originally in the Lehava High School for Girls) by singer/choral conductor Nomi Teplow with the goal of bringing together girls with musical ability to work on a highly professional level and produce a wide variety of vocal music. The choir is comprised of 25-30 girls from areas throughout Samaria ranging in age from 13-18 years. The Shir-El choir performs in concerts and at vocal conventions across the country bringing fine singing, rich harmonies and words of hope, faith and love of Israel to a broad range of audiences. The Shir E-l Choir has won first place several times in the national choral competition for high school choirs sponsored by the Israel Ministry of Education.
