Members of the choir stem from various renowned choirs from Prague (Bambini di Praga, Radost Praha and others). The repertoire of Cancioneta Praga is very broad. It includes not only old-time compositions but also music of the 20th century, as well as carols from around the world and the Czech Republic, a selection of Czech folk songs and folk songs from around the world. The choir is also able to perform different styles of music, e.g. pop-music. Described as ‘a fine body of singers’ by John Packwood in the Bristol Evening Post, they have delighted audiences with their fresh, inspiring interpretations of choral repertory from many centuries. Members of the choir come from many parts of the UK for intensive weekends of music-making, culminating in concerts acclaimed for their invigorating choral sound, clarity of tone and texture, and innovative programming. In June 2010 Harmonia Sacra were invited to perform a programme of music by early seventeenth-century English Recusant musicians (including William Byrd, Richard Dering and Peter Philips) for a Swansea University History conference at Oystermouth. Members saw the need for a name which reflected their distinctive sound and musical objectives. They chose Voyces – a uniting image, powerful in its simplicity, a word with a bit of a twist, reflecting the eclectic and often unusual repertoire of the choir. In using the archaic spelling – ‘Voyces’ – the choir acknowledges thousands of years of rich choral tradition whilst establishing itself in the 21st century choral landscape. The choir is fast making a name for itself premiering works never before heard in Perth or in fact the world. Voyces seeks to be an interactive and involved performing group in the local WA and wider Australian musical community. As a strong supporter of emerging young composers and Australian composers, Voyces showcases their works on a regular basis.  less

Madison Choral Project is a fully professional chamber choir of 16 - 20 voices. We perform largely a Capella works from the Renaissance to present day commissions.
