We are a mixed Choir, putting on 3 concerts per year; a Spring concert with a wide...  moreFormed following the Newport National Eisteddfod (Welsh cultural festival) in 1988, Newport Philharmonic Choir has gone from strength to strength over the past 25 years. We are a mixed Choir, putting on 3 concerts per year; a Spring concert with a wide and varied mixture of music, an orchestral concert in the Autumn, and a charity Christmas concert. We can also be seen throughout the year taking part in various community events; singing at the local Christmas grotto, taking part in flash mobs and singing at weddings and funerals.  less

In new season the Choir continues to make up steps towards new artistic activities. The main activities of the Choir are finding the new ways to music, its expresion and presenting new ideas, cooperation with composers and many professional musicians. Now, the Choir Mūza is making a new image and wants to show multiplicity of the Choir music. In its programs the Choir performes modern music and a big part is left of Latvian Classical music as well as traditional Latvian folk-music. The Choir Mūza was established in 1947. Its founder and leader through out many years has been maestro Leonids Vigners (1906-2001). In 1999 the Choir transferred into new direction and it became a youth Choir. From 2006 the artistic director and the main conductor is Guntis Cimiņš.  less

Marryatville High School's Special Interest Music caters for selected gifted students and students with musical potential. Choral music is an essential part of the musical development of these students. The Concert Choir is an auditioned Choir of about 40.

At the beginning, PSM-ITB sang only in campus society and subs...  moreOn February 11th 1962, few ITB students established Paduan Suara Mahasiswa Institut Teknologi Bandung (PSM-ITB or ITB Student Choir) which was the first university-based Choir in Indonesia. At the beginning, PSM-ITB sang only in campus society and subsequently performed in public. However since 1973, it participated in various national Choir competitions and repeatedly won the first prizes. This led PSM-ITB to become one of the most established Choirs in Indonesia. In several occasions, the Choir has been given the chance to perform in events attended by the President of Indonesia. It regularly performs in concerts, occasionally collaborated with other Choirs and orchestras. In 1968 PSM-ITB organized the 1st ITB Choir Festival (FPS-ITB). Since then the festival is held biannually and becomes the largest national Choir event in term of categories (from children to adult and folklore catagories) and participants. This particular setting was composed with a small mixed-ability Choir in mind, so the voices are mainly in two parts (men's and women's voices), splitting to four parts (SATB) occasionally, where the words suggest it. The musical style is reminiscent of the 19th century although the piano part does go into 20th century style syncopation at times.

ABOUT THE Choir: Since 2009, the CWU Chamber Choir has held annual recording sessions to create videos specifically designed for YouTube. All are under the baton of Dr. Gary A. Weidenaar, who has been the director of the Choir since 2006. As of Fall, 2016; there are 26 videos.
