Th...  moreThe Koro San Isidro Labrador de CAA is the official Choir of San Isidro Labrador Chapel of Mary Queen of Apostles Parish (MQAP) located in the cities of Parañaque and Las Piñas. Formed on 1995, the Choir mainly sings at masses at the chapel every week. The members are composed of high school, College students and out of school youth and employees who lives in Timog, CAA, Las Piñas City that is why the former name of the Choir was Timog Youth Choir. The name was changed since the Choir started to expand its age range from 15-20 years old to open age as long as the member would fit the singing style of the Choir. The Choir usually held Christmas concerts and performs at quarterly general assembly of Choirs in the parish. Last June 2010, the Choir became the Champions of the first-ever Choral Competition of the MQAP in line with the parish’s 25th Anniversary wherein they bested other Choirs which comprises the whole parish. Wis Foreward: Santiago Veros wrote Almas de Barro at the age of 19, dedicating it to a young woman who at the time was shy and with whom he rarely talked. This piece intimately describes the moments during music theory classes when the two would look at each other continuously, youthfully, and silently, as if unable to do anything else. T...  more"Sanctus" (Ola Gjeilo) is sung by The Central Washington University Chamber Choir (Gary Weidenaar, director). In May, 2013, composer Ola Gjeilo spent 3 days on the Central Washington University Campus, joining the Choir in recording 4 of his pieces. This performance of Gjeilo's "Sanctus" is from that session. The other pieces were "Luminous Night of the Soul", & "Across The Vast, Eternal Sky", accompanied by the composer at the piano and joined by the Kairos Quartet -- the resident faculty string quartet at CWU. The final piece, "Ubi Caritas II: Through Infinite Ages", was recorded both in an unaccompanied rendition (how it is written and published) and in a version with Mr. Gjeilo improvising an accompaniment to the Choir. This was Ola's second time on CWU's campus. His first visit was in the spring of 2011 and yielded 5 videos, a wide-ranging interview with the composer and other bonus material. It features people with disabilites and those without, from every section of the Community in Northern Ireland.
