T...  more"Sanctus" (Ola Gjeilo) is sung by The Central Washington University Chamber Choir (Gary Weidenaar, director). In May, 2013, composer Ola Gjeilo spent 3 days on the Central Washington University Campus, joining the Choir in recording 4 of his pieces. This performance of Gjeilo's "Sanctus" is from that session. The other pieces were "Luminous Night of the Soul", & "Across The Vast, Eternal Sky", accompanied by the composer at the piano and joined by the Kairos Quartet -- the resident faculty string quartet at CWU. The final piece, "Ubi Caritas II: Through Infinite Ages", was recorded both in an unaccompanied rendition (how it is written and published) and in a version with Mr. Gjeilo improvising an accompaniment to the Choir. This was Ola's second time on CWU's campus. His first visit was in the spring of 2011 and yielded 5 videos, a wide-ranging interview with the composer and other bonus material. Our repertoire is varied (Gregorian, Renaissance, Baroque, American standards, popular Spanish song, Opera, Gospel, etc..) We actively participate in cultural life of the towns of our influence, like Colmenarejo or Galapagar and in other towns like El Escorial or Valdemorillo, performing at Christmas, Easter, the festivity or "Galapajazz" as "opening act" of "Manhattan Transfer" and Art Garfunkel. We sang in PORTUGAL, Burgos Cathedral, the Church of the Magdalene Torrelaguna, the Monastery of St.. Domingo de Silos, Mecerreyes Church and Collegiate Covarrubias (Burgos), the Iglesia de la Santa Cruz of Carballiño (Orense), the Iglesia de Sta. María of Requena (Valencia), Ntra. Sra. del Buen Suceso or Las Calatravas in Madrid and at Mass on Sundays TVE issues, from the parish of Los Arroyos (El Escorial). We organize the Choral Events of Colmenarejo. Part of the Orthodox Catholic Church service sung at the Great Entrance during the Liturgy of the Holy Pre-sanctified Gifts, which is served on Wednesdays and Fridays during Great Lent. The first two verses are sung very slowly, then there is a silence during which the preist carries the pre-sanctified gifts through the holy doors. All the people prostrate in silence and then the last verse plus three alleluyas is sung. "Now the powers of heaven invisibly worship with us For behold, the King of glory doth enter. Behold the mystical sacrifice is escorted in. Let us with faith and longing draw near and become partakers of life everlasting. Alleluya." This is from The OK Chorale's second public concert in March 2013 at St. Mary's Church, Woodbridge, Suffolk, UK.  less
