The Choir cherishes music of foreign and domestic authors from the fifteenth century to present times . The academic background , tradition and reputation of the Choir are confirming it’s high artistic achievements. During it’s long history the Choir won many prestigious awards at numerous competitions and festivals . The Choir’s primary goals are: preserving and nurturing local and foreign secular and spiritual choral art, expanding culture, art and musical amateurism, engaging in various ceremonies, contests and other public performances. In achieving these goals, special attention is paid to professional and musical developing of singers and developing civic awareness and academic life. We are an 80-strong SATB Choir in our 55th season and, while we sing a varied repertoire, we are best known for our spirited performances of the great and exciting choral works. In recent years, works which we have performed include Bach ‘Magnificat’, ...  moreWe are an 80-strong SATB Choir in our 55th season and, while we sing a varied repertoire, we are best known for our spirited performances of the great and exciting choral works. In recent years, works which we have performed include Bach ‘Magnificat’, Vivaldi ‘Gloria’, Mozart ‘Requiem’, Orff ‘Carmina Burana’, Rossini ‘Stabat Mater’, Dvorak ‘Mass in D’, Tippett ‘A Child of our Time’, Handel 'Messiah' and Verdi ‘Requiem’.' We engage professional soloists and orchestra, to perform with the Choir. Since March 2015 our Musica Director is Adam Treadaway. We perform three concerts a year at St George's Church Beckenham with weekly rehearsals from September to June at the St George's Church Hall. These venues are close to Beckenham Junction Rail and Tram Stations and on many bus routes. Car parking is also available at the St George's public car park.  less

We are girls who become like family through our shared passion for music. Each member auditioned by our Choirmaster, Andre van der Merwe, and attends Stellenberg High School. Our repertoire consists mainly of Gospel, Acapella, Classical, Folk/Ethnic, and Sacred music. We compete in various national and international competitions and strive to share beautiful music with the world while being cultural ambassadors for our country. Achievements: - Overall winners of the "ATKV Nasionale Applous-kompetisie" for 12 times (1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2011). - In 2002 they won the category for Women's Choirs at the Llangollen International Eisteddfod in Wales. - In 2004, we were awarded the highest percentage for any Choir at the World Choir Olympics. - In 2006 we won the much acclaimed Choir of the World trophy in Llangollen Wales. ...    less
