The Games included twenty seven thousand Singers from four hundred choirs representing seventy three countries. The Games included twenty seven thousand Singers from four hundred choirs representing seventy three countries. Dozan wa Awtar, under the leadership of its Founder and Director Shireen Abu Khader, competed in two categories: Scenic Folklore and Mixed Choirs; singing Arabic songs in both and receiving a Gold Diploma in each category. This is the firSt time Jordan is represented in an international choral competition. On this occasion, Shireen Abu Khader expressed her immense pride at this accomplishment and international recognition and commended the continuous efforts of the Singers which led to this achievement. The present church choir, one of the fineSt choirs of it’s type in the UK, is an excellent mixed-voice choir with about 30 members who are currently brought up to music by Stephen Dagg, Director of Music (also Director of the Centre for Young Musicians, a...  Style.display='';$(this).getParent().Style.display='none';">moreStyle="display:none;">The present church choir, one of the fineSt choirs of it’s type in the UK, is an excellent mixed-voice choir with about 30 members who are currently brought up to music by Stephen Dagg, Director of Music (also Director of the Centre for Young Musicians, a division of the Guildhall School, and the London Schools Symphony OrcheStra). The choir’s repertoire of sacred music ranges from the 16th to the 21St centuries, including a recently commissioned and premièred work by Roxanna Panufnik. The choir sings to a cathedral Standard every week at the Sung EuchariSt on Sunday and Choral evensong every fourth Sunday. It also sings at special services during the year and goes on tour each summer. Recent tours have been to Bordeaux (2014).
