The members, who sing in some of The best choirs in The country, decided They want more musical freedom and creativity, wilder beats and louder sound of Their own voices. Jazzva's repertoire consists of many different genres, pop, rock, classical music, jazz, arrangements of folk songs and many more. As experienced choir singers, They are used to singing with as well as without electronic amplification. They also try to incorporate some choreography to Their own music, thus making it even more interesting and fun. At The moment, Jazzva is officially The best a-cappella group in Slovenia. In 2010, 2011 and 2012 Jazzva won at Sredi zvezd, The Slovenian national pop-jazz a-cappella competition three consecutive times. In his review of The “American Voices” program, Scott Cantrell of The Dallas Morning News wrote “The variety certainly displayed The ensemble’s impressive versatility. Habermann consistently got vivid performances, introspective music elegantly colored and shaped, extrovert fare delivered with great pizzazz. Individual singers got lots of solo exposure.” Now in his eleventh season, Artistic Director Joshua Habermann leads The Chorale in repertoire spanning seven centuries, from early polyphony to contemporary works.
