We sing repertoire in the styles Jazz, Soul, Gospel, pop and focus during weekly lessons on blend, enthousiasm, musicality & empowerment of singers through excercises on all the aspects of singing and singing in a Vocal Group. We are 2 young ensembles, but we aim towards performing and giving concerts. We are still looking for new singers, also men!  less

The choir’s work was interrupted for several years during its members’ academic education, as well as during their participation in different musical projects. The present line-up has been steady since 2006. Their repertoire offers a variety of styles of great difficulty and chromatic richness, and tries to take advantage of the cultural and geographic circumstances which make of the Canary Islands a multicultural place. A remarkable feature of the group is their willingness to innovate within the choral music. Their versatility and the variety of repertoire they face can be seen in the different projects they have taken part in: short operas, official or private events, festivals, and monographic concerts on different subjects. Homechoir is a new way of learning music. You don’t need to be an accomplished singer to take part. Homechoir members watch and sing along with Ben - teaching is one-way so nobody can hear us but the neighbours! - and are also invited to take part in the live text chat with Ben and with fellow singers around the world. There is a vibrant and friendly social community among the choir. If you can’t join in live, then you can still enjoy the music-making at any time. All our sessions remain available on YouTube after the live streams end for watching on catch-up when you can, and as often as you like. During this time the choir has achieved success on many levels: Locally they have received 10 golden diplomas on provincial level for the “ATKV Applous” competition in the category for advanced, mixed high school choirs; and 7 golden diplomas on national level for the same competition. They were the only choir in the history of the Director’s trophy who won the award 8 times and they were also the first to do so in all three categories: mixed- (5 times), boys’- (twice) and girls’ choir (once). They have also received double gold at the Gauteng Eisteddfod, A and A+ awards at the Pretoria Beeld Eisteddfod and first place in their category in more than one local competition. They have annual workshops and master classes with well-known and respected conductors (both locally and internationally) and have hosted many international choirs and groups. Under the direction of Diana Clark since 2009, Children’s choir consists of caring young musicians from diverse cultural heritages, ages 9-15 years old. Storytelling, joy of singing, connection and flexibility of performance are the core values of this group. The choir also loves to work with guest conductors and share with other choirs. They have recently been guest singers with Vancouver Chamber choir.
