We are based in Chicago's western suburbs. ECU performs two major concerts each season with full professional orchestra musicians and pro soloists, and also a mini-concert of our singers in soLos and duets with piano. We often appear as featured guest artists with Elmhurst Symphony and in local appearances. Our outstanding volunteer singers come from throughout the Chicago area for a unique musical experience. Our conductor James MacDonald has directed choirs and orchestras throughout the U.S. and overseas, and teaches conducting and music theory. A joyous exclamation which is set at a wedding, where the groom is being asked: "Where are you hiding the bride". Traditional Sesotho South African traditional music is known for their movement and dancing in their songs, and the UP Youth Choir accentuates this by highlighting the movement in their performance.

Odes of Love is a piece about what matters most: life itself. Santiago Veros is now creating a national initiative for this work. One choir in each U.S. state will receive the Exclusive State Premiere Rights for Odes of Love. the idea is simple: one choir, one state, one local premiere. This initiative brings together strong choirs from across the country and gives each director a meaningful way to share this music with their own community.  less

Since forming in November of 2010, the Marion Consort have performed in Chicago, Milwaukee, and Arlington Heights. This past August, they had the privilege of performing at the Chicago Cultural Center as part of the Classical Music Mondays series. their mission is to present performances for various audiences with music by well known composers, while also exploring the works of lesser known composers. the Marion Consort can divide into duos, trios, octets, etc. for a well-rounded and blended performance. Participation always begins in the Fall semester, and continues all the way to graduation commencement in June. the choir performed in joint concerts with choirs from Duke University, Yale University, Harvard University, Perugia University and Missouri Drury University.  less
