She has already heard her brother Arac practising that song in which he gradually removes all his cumbersome armour, and she decides it is also a song for her. Arac and his fellow guardsmen stand back and watch in great amusement as she performs her version of the song for them.

Originally dedicated to performing 17th and 18th century operas, the membership voted to rename the group Richmond Opera in 2016 to reflect a diversification into performing operas of other eras. Our next opera will be a fully staged performance of JF Lampe's burlesque 'The Dragon of Wantley', a hilarious pastiche of Handel's operas, sung in English With baroque orchestra, at the lovely Victorian Normansfield Theatre. It was such a riot back in the day that it eclipsed Handel's more serious works! It was founded in 1936 as the Dow Male Chorus With membership from the men of the Dow Chemical Company. In 1961, Dow discontinued its Music Department and the chorus became the Men of Music and along With the rest of the Dow Music Department formed The Music Society under director Ted Vosburgh. Since then there were several women directors who continued to lead the chorus. The Men of Music continues today providing excellant men's four part harmony With our present very talented director, Grace Marra, who joined the chorus in 1994.
