With the addition of Richard Larson as artistic director and a handful of additional singers, the group quickly found a footing in the cultural fabric of Denver, Colorado. Now entering its 15th full season of performing, the group has expanded into an auditioned ensemble of 54 volunteer singers who meet weekly to rehearse. Many of the singers come from schools with strong choral music programs, such as Augustana, Brigham Young, Concordia, Luther, St. Olaf, Wartburg, and the University of Northern Colorado. Kantorei established itself as one of the nation’s premier choral ensembles after performing as an auditioned choir for the 2003 National American Choral Directors Association Conference at Carnegie Hall in New York City. We are committed to building community through excellence in a cappella harmony, and we love to learn. We rehearse weekly to improve our vocal skills and build lasting Friendships in the process. Although we have diverse backgrounds, our members thrive by working together to achieve shared goals. We sing a range of repertoire from jazz standards to 21st-century pop, barbershop to show tunes, but most importantly we sing a cappella. As well as entertaining audiences across the eastern suburbs of Melbourne we compete regularly in barbershop harmony competitions at a national level. It was first created by a few Friends in 1991, then enlarged over the years. It has been conducted by Stephan Nicolay since 2004. The choir aims to share quality music and new experiences with the audience. That is why La Sestina often performs with crossover arts on a main theme e.g. French Renaissance chansons in 16th century clothes with an actress, a cappella sacred contemporary music with dancers and video projection, Baroque French music with chamber orchestra and a lecturer, medieval Spanish music with mediterranean ensemble of lutes and percussions, etc. Also, the choir aims at supporting humanitarian and social actions by offering one or several concerts each year. A year before, there was already a male vocal group consisting of six members called MIKE 6, the establishment of which was inspired by a US vocal group TAKE 6. Voxtet was basically formed by subsequent addition of female singers to MIKE6. The formation of Voxtet started out with nine persons but, during the first three years, it ca me down to the current six members. Most of the singers in Voxtet have their musical background in various choirs. Some of them still sing in Jihlava’s famous PS Campanula choir. 1999 Voxtet’s first concert took place on 31 May 1999 in Jihlava’s Horácké theatre. From then on, Voxtet’s performed at various minor events as well as its own big shows. 1999-2001 At the beginning, Voxtet was remarkable especially due to the absolute lack of a distinct dramaturgy. That Choir was formed in the spring of 2008 by Craig Pike and 14 of his actor Friends who wanted to create and share a music experience together. That Choir now brings together over 25 members with diverse backgrounds in work and study, and a mixture of trained and untrained voices. New Canadian artists are important for That Choir to nurture and have already performed new works by J. Scott Brubacher as well as Reza Jacobs in December 2010. Also in December of 2010, That Choir invited Canadian Theatre Artist Nancy Palk to read Dylan Thomas's " A Child's Christmas in Wales" as part of That Choir Carols - an annual celebration of the Holidays. As That Choir looks forward into 2011, it is becoming well known for its a cappella repertoire of many styles and periods with a strong focus on storytelling.  less

At present the choir has 34 members. The group’s repertoire is very eclectic: from spirituals to sacred polyphony, from pop music to regional and international folk songs. The ensemble has performed in many beautiful churches and other landmarks in Rome and in Central Italy, with concerts in the most important concert halls in the capital city and festivals in many wonderful villas and palaces scattered around the countryside near Rome. In 2007 and 2009 the choir participated with great enthusiasm in the International Choir Festival in Val Pusteria. In the 2010 regional choir contest at Formello the choir came first in the pop category and second in the category for choral music from the 20th and 21st centuries.
