Mu...  moreThe Middle Community Chorus is a professional-level volunteer choir that sings mostly gospel MUSIC, but also MUSIC of all genres accompanied by a 4-piece band. It provides the MUSIC for Middle Collegiate Church's Art & Soul worship at 6 PM. MUSIC reading is very helpful, but not as important as good intonation and a keen ear for gospel MUSIC. The only rehearsals are on Sunday afternoons at 4:30, for the 6:00 PM worship (start date 9/7) so it is essential that singers must be able to work on MUSIC outside of rehearsal that will be distributed several days in advance. Middle Collegiate Church is located in the East Village at 2nd Avenue and 7th Street.  less

Sin dalla sua fondazione, il coro è diretto dal Maestro Ciro Caravano, noto al pubblico come uno dei cantanti, ma anche produttore, arrangiatore e direttore del gruppo vocale Neri per Caso nonché direttore MUSICale del cantante Mario Biondi. Il gruppo esegue brani celebri di MUSICa leggera italiana ed internazionale, appositamente rivisti e riarrangiati dallo stesso direttore, in chiave “a cappella” in modo da esaltarne l’originalità dei motivi e la ricchezza dell’armonia attraverso nuove chiavi di lettura e un pizzico di ironia, che è poi uno dei tratti distintivi di questa esuberante formazione MUSICale. Turning MUSIC on its head with its repertoire and unlimited section numbers, The People’s Orchestra is not afraid to perform in new and exciting events. The People’s Orchestra Charity was founded to foster community MUSIC making into supporting those most vulnerable in our local communities with back to work or education support. Bernard’s MUSIC featured on the Horrible ...  moreBernard Hughes’s MUSIC has been performed at major venues in Britain and abroad and received a number of broadcasts on BBC Radio 3. A CD of his choral MUSIC, I am the Song, was released in 2016 on Signum Classics. Bernard’s MUSIC featured on the Horrible Histories film Bill (2015), and he co-produced the album, Not Now, Bernard & Other Stories, performed Orchestra of the Swan and Alexander Armstrong, released in February 2020. In January 2020 Bernard’s choral MUSIC was featured in a portrait concert by the BBC Singers, and in November 2020 one of the pieces from that concert, I Sing of Love, was nominated by the Ivors Academy for an Ivors Composer Award. With Bernard's kind permission I am releasing this video of my multitrack performance of a part of his mass, dating from around 2006.  less

 Our repertoire consists mainly of folk, gospel, pop and freedom songs all sung in glorious 4 part harmony and mostly in a capella style. All choir members have online access to MP3 recordings of their parts so they can practise anytime.

We love welcoming new people so it would be great to have you along. There is no audition and everyone is welcome to come and check us out for a night before they join.  less
