The New Choir is an auditioned chamber Choir performing Choral works from all genres. The Choir has been conducting regularly scheduled performances in the Bay Area since its founding.
The members of the New Choir have been brought together by their common love for the making of beautiful music. The New Choir is dedicated to the study and performance of quality Choral literature and sharing the joy and the spiritual enhancement inherent in the making of music.
The New Choir has been recognized for their performances of thoughtfully prepared programs. The Lost Sound- Dartmoor Folk Choir
We are an a cappella mixed voice Choir of around 35 singers. We started in 2008. We train together in vocal and Choral skills as part of every session and want to explore our own sound as well as that of our Choir's. We started in 2008. We train together in vocal and Choral skills as part of every session and want to explore our own sound as well as that of our Choir's. Throughout the pandemic we kept singing and did a short but very fun Homegrown Harmony project where all singers participated in a small group piece or a solo and recorded it. Max 6 singers! At Xmas we managed to get all the men together for a rousing a Wassail .

Dim shadows in the corner hide;
The glimmering lantern's rays are shed
Where one young lamb just lifts his head,
Then huddles 'gainst his mother's side.
Strange silence tingles in the air;
Through the half-open door a bar
Of light from one low-hanging star
Touches a baby's radiant hair.
No sound: the mother, kneeling, lays
Her cheek against the little face.
