Our program has grown to 3 vocal jazz ensembles. The Music we perform represents a crossover of the jazz and popular Music idioms. The students in the KCKCC VJ program learn Jazz Education through a variety of methods. First of all, each of these students take private vocal jazz coachings weekly. They also perform Music by professional vocal ensembles, arrangements by well-known vocal jazz educators, and learn jazz and popular Music standards (both through the ensemble and in private coachings).  less

The Virginia Wesleyan Singers are an open-enrollment ensemble of 30-50 singers from all majors at Virginia Wesleyan College. No audition is required, and singers perform a variety of Music in all styles while developing vocal technique and Musicianship skills.

We are directed by the dynamic Scott Inglis-Kidger, a Music graduate from Cambridge University and previously a countertenor in the renowned King’s College choir. Scott selects a fabulous range of Music for us to work on and we are incredibly lucky to be supported by a professional orchestra and top professional soloists. All of this, combined with the commitment and enthusiasm of our members, makes for performances which are thrilling for the audience and exhilerating for the singers. We still retain a sense of joy of singing and of friendship and celebrate all our concerts with parties at our local Battersea pub. We do not hold auditions so if you would like to come and join us you are very welcome at any time to try a rehearsal or two and then decide if you would like to join. To date they have given over 1500 local youngsters vocal coaching and experience of professional-standard live performance. WYV is run by a team of experienced volunteers who give their time freely to be able to pass this experience on - the team consists of two primary School teachers, two doctors and a critical care nurse! Warwickshire Young Voices provide high quality Musical activities for children from age 2 to age 16 through a range of classes, choirs and workshops. In all activities, Warwickshire Young Voices prides itself on professionalism - with performances reaching the highest standards. Their Musical Director, and resident composer, often writes Music specifically for the children. Warwickshire Young Voices are a busy group.
