We sing Original compositions by Juliet Russell who conducts the Choir and is also our solo performer. Aside from Juliet's original material we sing a mix of traditional Gospel, African and Eastern European Music. The Choir consists of male and female singers of all ages who simply love to sing. No auditions required and no need to read sheet Music we learn by ear. New songs are added every term to our repertoire and we perform regularly at everything from weddings to local festivals.  less

This original composition being premiered this afternoon was commissioned by Rainier Chorale “in Honor of Ron Bayer, Artistic Director, for his 20 years of dedicated service and leadership.” Written by well-known and respected contemporary composer David ...  moreThis original composition being premiered this afternoon was commissioned by Rainier Chorale “in Honor of Ron Bayer, Artistic Director, for his 20 years of dedicated service and leadership.” Written by well-known and respected contemporary composer David Dickau, it hauntingly sets a very thoughtful text by Will Dromgoole. In it, Dromgoole tells the story of an old man who approaches a deep and wide water-filled chasm. He crosses in the evening as he is unafraid, then builds a bridge to span the tide. A fellow pilgrim questions why an old man would build the bridge, as he would surely never pass this way again in his lifetime. The old man lifts his grey head and responds to the questioning traveler that a youth is to follow after him. He too, would need to cross in the twilight dim. The old man answers, “I am building this bridge for him.” The commission process was an interesting and fascinating one in which to be involved. From reno...  moreThe Ensemble Thios Omilos was founded in 2002 by members of the Leipzig Thomanerchor and quickly became recognized for their stylistic dedication to the interpretation of sacred Music as well as secular literature from the renaissance to modern. From renowned festivals, such as the Leipzig Bachfest, the MDR Summer Music, the Music festival in Mecklenburg-West Pomerania, the “Kultursommer” in Nordhessen, and the “Musiksommer” in both Schönberg and Quedlinburg, to performances abroad, the singers have been warmly welcomed. The Vocal quintet went on tour in 2007 to the People’s Republic of China and in 2010 to Taiwan. In 2013 the group was invited to Rome to perform a concert in Honor of the council chairman of the Evangelical Reformed Church visiting the Holy See. In the same year Thios Omilos won first place in the Johannes-Brahms-Competition in Wernigerode, the Anton-Bruckner-Competition in Linz, and the Leipzig Conservatory of Music and Theater Ensemble Competition.
