The recording is taken from Exultate Singers' new album, A Sense of the Divine, to be released in December 2013 and was recorded in St George's Bristol Mother of God, here I stand now praying before this ikon of your radiant brightness, not praying to be saved from a battlefield; not giving thanks nor seeking forgiveness for the sings of my soul, nor for all the souls. Numb, joyless and desolate on earth; but for her alone, whom I wholly give you.  less

So I decided to have a go at performing some of his works. They are in a style that I’ve not sung for over 20 years (evangelical church choir), but the old fervour still comes out in the performance: I was transported back to those good old days as I sang. Recorded live on Friday, May 17, 2013, at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Performed by the Chamber Singers ensemble of the Girl Choir of South Florida. Artistic Director: Wallis Peterson, Accompanist: Gayle Giese, Oboist: Lisa Gelfand. She walks in beauty, like the night Of cloudless climes and starry skies; And all that's best of dark and bright Meet in her aspect and her eyes: Thus mellow'd to that tender light Which heaven to gaudy day denies. One shade the more, one ray the less, Had half impaired the nameless grace Which waves in every raven tress, Or softly lightens o'er her face; Where thoughts serenely sweet express How pure, how dear their dwelling-place. And on that cheek, and o'er that brow, So soft, so calm, yet eloquent, The smiles that win, the tints that glow, But tell of days in goodness spent, A mind at Peace with all below, A heart whose love is innocent!  less
