Seitdem haben sich Mirko Ludwig (Tenor), Florian Sievers (Tenor), Christoph Behm (Bariton) und Tim Schwarzenberger (Bass) ein breites A-cappella-Repertoire erarbeitet und dieses bei verschiedenen Konzerten und Auftritten im norddeutschen Raum präsentiert. Durch die Jahre im Knabenchor musikalisch geprägt, führte der Weg alle vier Ensemblemitglieder zum Lübecker Kammerchor „I Vocalisti" unter der Leitung von Hans-Joachim Lustig, mit dem sie zahlreiche Preise gewannen, u. a. beim Deutschen Chorwettbewerb und bei internationalen Kammerchorwettbewerben wie Marktoberdorf, Tolosa (Spanien) und Cork, Irland. Die jahrelange gemeinsame Singerfahrung in unzähligen Konzerten, auf nationalen und internationalen Wettbewerben und Festivals legte schließlich den Grundstein für das vierköpfige Vokalensemble. Sweet Adelines International LogoWe are a chapter of Sweet Adelines International, a worldwide organization of women singers committed to advancing the musical art form of barbershop four-part harmony. While our chorus offers educational opportunities to its members, we also serve the community through shows and other events throughout the Pittsburgh area.

The choir welcomes new members at the...  moreThe Gettin’ Higher choir seeks to embrace and celebrate humanity’s highest aspirations through music, welcoming people of all ages and cultures. We are not associated with any particular religion or spiritual path. The choir welcomes new members at the beginning of each season in September and February. There is no audition, and no vocal experience is required, just a desire to sing in harmony with others. Our aim is to re-integrate singing into the daily routines of life. We sing for the pure joy and pleasure it gives us, in an atmosphere that is fun, relaxed, and accepting. Our repertoire consists of both traditional and new songs from many cultures. The majority are sung a cappella (unaccompanied) in 4-part harmony. The choir is divided into three chapters, each practicing the same material on either Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Homechoir is a new way of looking at learning music. You don’t need to be able to sing well or at all to take part – the teaching is one-way. You watch and sing along with Ben if you can, and are invited to take part in the live text chat with everyone else around the world. There is a vibrant and friendly social community among the choir. If you can’t join in live, then you can enjoy the music-making at any time as all our sessions are recorded and available for you to watch when you can, as often as you like. You don’t need to be able to read music, and where scores are needed, Ben will display them on screen to help you learn.
