With two musical productions “Buenas Versiones” (2008) and “Rumba Romance” (2011) the Band has based their work on research and development of new ways of interpreting a cappella vocal music of various genres, in implementing voices assemblies and timbres that inspired the creation of strings, wind and percussion. Thus, they recreate repertoires and original sounds of Venezuela and Latin American, which makes the band a new identity communication vehicle and the artistic and cultural development of the region.
SIETEPALOS is a musical proposal that has been able to make them known in various national and international festivals, in which the band has shared the stage with renowned artists, among the most prominent are:

Belle Canto was the first choir formed in the Cantilon family and remains its only adult ensemble. In touring and recording, Belle Canto has distinguished itself as one of today’s foremost women’s ensembles.
Originally a group of university students, the choir now consists of amateur singers from all walks of life. Belle Canto particularly enjoys exploring the contemporary repertoire of Eastern Europe and Scandinavia and has recorded much of this repertoire on their disc, Invocation. less

Two points of note:
First, the composition grew out of the feeling that all 4 voices should start on the same note, grow outwards and then come back to that same note at the end. The rest just seemed to evolve on its own, seemingly guided by some external force.
Second, unusually, I have asked choirs (where possible) to sing this without any breaks, via staggered breathing, as I wanted to highlight the deep conviction underlying the words of the Psalm, as one single thread of deep belief that moves from beginning to end.
Sincere thanks to Matthew Curtis (choraltracks.com) for recording "Psalm 23."
As always, comments are welcomed. Email me at rain@magma.ca, if you'd like more info.
I would like to acknowledge the a cappella choir that I sing in, The Stairwell Carollers, and our director Pierre Massie, for their musical inspiration these past 26 years.
I would also like to thank my friends in our "Ad ... less
