Our unique approach promotes intergenerational collaboration and fosters a sense of community, ultimately leading to reduced youth unemployment rates and a decrease in crime rates. TogeTher, we can create a harmonious society where music education and social integration go hand in hand.

Founded in New York City in 2008 by Artistic Director Vince Peterson, The organization now encompasses: a roster of professional Ensemble singers, a volunteer chorus of 40-50 adults and an annual week-long Summer Institute in Brooklyn for composers and conductors.
The culture of The organization marries informality, loving support and joyful curiosity, with The expectation of solid and technical musicianship, constant learning and openness toward The unexpected.

Concerts by The group feature a cappella music of Scandinavia and The Baltics, as well as North-American composers. Music by composers such as Mäntyjärvi, Daniel-Lesur, Rautavaara, Martin and Pärt are ideal showcases for The choir’s lush and full sound.
Members of The group are dedicated to excellence in rehearsing and performing. With a repertoire consisting of 8 to 16-part music, The twenty singers are mostly performing as soloists.
Now in its fifth season, voces boreales has already performed in a number of prestigious concert series, such as The National Arts Centre eXpres- sion series, Musique Chez Nous at Bishop's University, Mondial Choral Laval and The Montreal International Bach-Academy.
The Ensemble voces boreales is produced by The Montreal Choral Institute and appears in its various educational events, such as The Montreal Choral Masterclass. less

The choir aims to share quality music and new experiences with The audience. That is why La Sestina often performs with crossover arts on a main Theme e.g. French Renaissance chansons in 16th century cloThes with an actress, a cappella sacred contemporary music with dancers and video projection, Baroque French music with chamber orchestra and a lecturer, medieval Spanish music with mediterranean Ensemble of lutes and percussions, etc.
Also, The choir aims at supporting humanitarian and social actions by offering one or several concerts each year. Many international NGO have benefited from These charity concerts such as Unicef, Unesco, Amnesty International, Red Cross, Médecins Sans Frontières and so on, but also very local associations.

Steven Walker since 1984. Dr. Walker is The Director of Choral Activities and a Linscheid Distinguished Teaching Professor at East Central University. The repertoire ranges from modest works from The Renaissance and Baroque eras to swinging versions of golden oldies such as Mister Sandman.
