Our aims are to achieve high standards of singing and performance, and to contribute to our local community. Our annual programme typically includes 6-8 concerts in The Harpenden area and furTher afield, a caThedral tour, open singing days and The occasional recording. We rehearse on Wednesday evenings at St George’s School, Harpenden. We are known for good music making, varied repertoire including regular commissions, excellent soloists, interesting concert venues and loyal patronage of a range of local hostelries…. We come from a wide range of musical backgrounds and have a thriving interns scheme for talented singers from local schools. Over our 50 year history, The Leas have sung under 11 permanent conductors and many guests, each of whom has made a distinctive contribution to our style and repertoire. C6 is an auditioned acappella group comprised of singers from Chicagoland voices. When originally formed, C6 had 6 singers. However, we have fluctuated from 5 - 7 over The last few years.

Its aims are to rehearse and perform a wide variety of music to a high standard, and to engage with The local community, both in its membership and by bringing top quality performances to The local area and beyond. Johansen Choirs are truly honored to re...  more The Johansen high School Vocal Music Department provides our students The opportunity to perform great choral literature while entertaining local audiences and performing at a variety of civic and community events. Johansen Choirs are truly honored to represent our community in various capacities as well as having The opportunity to tour throughout California, often giving students Their first experience outside of Stanislaus County. We are excited that nearly 60 students will participate in The vocal music program at Johansen high School this year. Last year our choirs participated in multiple festivals, sang by invitation at many local events and toured San Diego. The department’s Viking Singers won a contest this summer and sang on stage with foreigner at The County Fair. These talented students have been invited to participate in Gallo Center for The Arts first ever a cappella festival in April 2013.  less
